Organising an event of this kind has two basic aims:

- Divulge and spread the Hebrew culture in Catalonia, main purpose of the institution.

- Exhibit and put to sale a wide and diverse bibliography of Hebrew subjects and authors printed in Catalonia, Spain and abroad.

-  Approach and ease access to public readers, specialised or not, to a bibliography mainly difficult to see in the market.

- Highlight the rich cultural treasure Jewish authors contribute with and texts about Jewish culture of any topic.

- Open new areas for great cultural events usually centralised in big cities.

- Make of Lleida the capital of Hebrew culture in Catalonia. The wide diffusion of the fair through the mass media, Jewish communities and associations, institutions of friendship; public and private organs, universities and research centres related somehow or other to the Jewish people and/or the Hebrew culture in Catalonia and Spain, will no doubt give this fair a dimension that will have a wide effect on the local  character. As the name suggests, it is the First Fair of the Hebrew Book organized in Catalonia.

- Divulge and spread our institution and the activities we develop so as to increase the number of new members and/or friends.
